Make The World More Beautiful

The kids and I started this book this week called Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. When Alice is a young girl, she listens to her Grandfather who lives by the sea tell stories of faraway places. She tells him that when she grows up she too shall visit faraway places and when she's old like him she too shall live by the sea. He said there is a third thing she must do. She must do something to make the world more beautiful. She does, but you have to read to story to find out what she does!!

I love our curriculum Five In A Row. Steve and Jane Lambert have chosen such wonderful books to use. Going with this story line in the book, what is something YOU have done or would like to do to make the world more beautiful? I would love to hear your ideas as I can use them as examples with the kids! Thanks everyone and have a fantastic day!
