Hello and Welcome to Week #27 of Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. This week our sponsor is Michelle Perkett. Thank you for being our sponsor again. All month long our sponsor is Michelle's Scrapbooking & More. Be sure to check out both sponsors and the wonderful items them have to offer!
This week I used my new digi Winter Cardinals. I was trying to create a wintry window view from a comfy couch. :) I have the beautiful birds outside the window on the snowy trees, the beautifully framed window, 2 kinds of wallpaper separated by the wooden chair rail and then the 3-D Christmas Tree off to the side. I could have made the tree bigger but I didn't want it to be the main focal point.
Yes, I put acetate in that window to make it look real. This window frame was really quite simple to make.
A closer shot of the real wood window frame and chair rail. I used 3 different kinds of wood pre-cut strips and 4 different sizes. For the window frame I used 1/2" Hickory and for the chair rail, I used 7/16" Walnut, 9/16" Hickory, and 3/4" Birch precut strips.
I will be posting a 2 part tutorial on how I made this scene.
- Part 1 on Wednesday - Printing and Coloring Digi's on Designer Paper
- Part 2 on Thursday - Creating a Real Wood Window Frame
Be sure to check back and have a WONDERFUL day!
