Cherry Wood Paper Memorial Card
I made 30 of these cards for a sweet friend who lost her son one year ago to cancer for an In Memory Card for her to send to friends and family. She was originally wanting wood paper, fir trees with a cross in the background. I just wasn't finding a stamp to fit the bill so I went to iStock photos. I found this stepping stone photo and it just spoke to me. The original photo did not include a cross so I found a beautiful cross and added it to the photo.
I used my Layers of Color Flourish Mask I won from Kristine a few weeks back (thank you!). I sponged Creamy Caramel ink onto the Cherry Wood Paper. I was just in awe how beautiful it turned out. However my fingers were pretty brown after sponging 60 of these (inside/outside).
I made 2 other cards for my friend to choose from. She loved this one right away. She said, "Troy's journey to the cross was difficult, but we know he made it." This one was just perfect to her. :) I felt very blessed to be able to do this for such a caring mother. It makes card making worth it when you make a difference in someone's life.
Thank you for stopping by for a peak! Have a wonderful day!

No wonder she loved it. This is a lovely memorial card! I really like the image of the stepping stones to the cross.
