Domesticated Momma

Today was canning day. 8 pounds of cucumbers soaking and waiting to be turned into Dill PICKLES.

Several hours later...we have 8 quarts of the yummiest dill pickles. I don't give these away. My protects them with his life. They are better than anything I've ever bought. Only took about 50 recipes and attempts to get the PERFECT Dill Pickle recipe!

About 19 cups of diced cucumbers, green peppers, red peppers and onions. They will be the most delicious pickle relish on Monday. A few days of 'futzing' with them first. Sort of a pain but it's soooo worth it. I can't stand store relish now that I've had this! I always make too much just to make sure I won't have to suffer through a jar of store bought relish.


And finished the Domesticated Momma Day with grilled Corn on the Cob. :) Now off to play with the kiddo's and have a bomb fire. Absolutely beautiful evening here tonight! Hope you are all enjoying your evenings as well!

Looks yummy at your house! Thanks for asking Betty, I think I would like to try relish too. I haven't done any canning or preserving since I was first married, almost 20 years ago! The pics sure brought back memories of my mom.
