M5D Design Team Meet & Greet

I hope everyone had a fantastic New Year!
With a New Year comes a New Design Team!

For the next 3 months all of the ladies plus one Guest Designer
will surely inspire you with creations, projects, tutorials and more!
I, for one, can not wait to see
what they come up with for you!

Their first release of projects is this Thursday!
Be sure to check in and see what they are up to!

The first 5 ladies are our latest additions to the Team.
Welcome, Ladies!

Amy Johnson
Hi!  My name is Amy Johnson and although I have been scrap booking my whole life, I've only been a serious paper crafter (making cards and other altered paper art) for about 6 years.  Most days it seems my entire life is spent in the craft and hobby industry, for I spend most of the week working at a major Craft Store, and my days off in my studio making paper crafts for McMahon 5 Designs and other digital companies.  But it is a great joy and pleasure for me to be working in an industry I love!  Like most paper crafters, I started out with stamps and ink, and eventually found digital images and now my fingers rarely see ink!  There are just so many more creative possibilities you can do with digis that you can't do with stamps; my favorite being the ability to re-size images to suit your projects and needs.  So if you haven't tried digital images yet, I strongly encourage you to begin, you'll be amazed at what you can create!

Lorie Ames
Hi All!  I was blessed with an incredible husband, Todd about 9 years ago and together we have four amazing kids.  Scott (23), Brianna (23), Jon (18), and Kyler (12) of whom only Kyler is at home now.  It wasn't until I moved to Washington State that I was introduced to this hobby called stamping.  I have been stamping for about 7 years now and most days I love it but I do occasionally have to remind myself that "stamping is fun"...you feel that way sometimes, too, don't you?  I have admired the M5D design teams creations since my first introduction to it through Kristine and have wanted to be a part of this fun company and design team since then!  In my spare time I work at my church as the Director of Children's Ministries, volunteer at Kyler's school and I volunteer at our local Care Net.   Thank you, Sue, for this opportunity!  See you around the blog!

Raven Baca
I live in New Mexico with a big giant wonderful family and fabulous friends! I have been crafting my entire life. My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was very young and that's when it all started. I have experimented with all mediums but paper has been my favorite for the last two years or so. I love making altered items and things outside of the box. I love meeting new people and I think that is one of the best things about this creative world people are so loving and supportive of one another. I just adore that. I am so honored to be a part of the team and I hope I can inspire others to have fun while crafting. It is just too therapeutic!!!!

Shelly Schmidt
I live in Wheaton, Illinois with my husband of 24 years Ray. We have three children-twins Katie and Christopher age 22 (seniors in college) and Stephanie (senior in High School).  We have a Cockapoo named Peanut. I work as a Registered Nurse.  I enjoy creating and started with sewing and needlework.  I tried my hand at art, but was never very good at it.  My inspiration was my Mother who is a fabulous artist (she teaches porcelain painting currently).  When I discovered rubber stamping- where the images were drawn for me, I went wild!  I joined Splitcoast Stampers and Technique Junkies and took every class I could sign up for.  I still love to learn new ‘techniques’ and try new things. I started blogging and joined my first DT less than a year ago, and now am enjoying the challenges as well.  I enjoy working with Digital images and found McMahon Five just recently. I fell in love with the Digi’s that look like ‘regular’ rubber stamps, and I really love being able to create with images that I can ‘size’ for cards, ATC’s…or whatever I am creating. I love that there are so many other great supplies in the McMahon Five Store as well.  I am so honored to join the DT at McMahon Five!

Ruby Taylor - January Guest Designer
I live in East Dublin, GA.  It is an incredibly small town!  I have been crafting in some form or another all my life.  When I was a child I dreamed of being an artist.  Paper crafting and learning more about altered arts are my life now.  I also knit, crochet, work counted cross stitch, and make jewelry (both wire wrapping and beading). I spend a lot of time gardening; my herb garden is my favorite!  (I have to admit that everything else has taken a backseat to my paper crafting now.)  I live alone with two beloved fur babies, have 2 grown children who each live in different states and 10 grandchildren.  I am honored to be a guest designer for Sue for the month of January and hope I can make her proud!

The next 5 ladies are the Senior Designers.
They have been with me for quite a long time now
and I'm honored to still have each and every one
of them sticking with me!
Thanks, Ladies!!

Bonnie O'Clair - Senior Designer

Christine Nay - Senior Designer

Kristine Breach - Senior Designer

Michelle Armijo - Senior Designer

Carolyn Miller - Permanent Guest Designer

We wish you much happiness, peace and joy in the new year ahead!
